WEEK 4 of 5 - The Winds of Change Youth Project opens a whole new world of challenge, skill development and discovery for young people who have disengaged from learning. By thinking beyond the paradigm of the classroom and didactic teaching, the Project offers a classroom of the future through the medium of sailing. The Winds of Joy program is an inclusive, safe space, designed to give young people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth an empowering and uplifting experience on the water. Participants are supported by skilled volunteer sailors, who will give students the opportunity to have hands-on experience with a large high performance yacht, specially fitted to accommodate wheelchairs.

Bookings require a minimum 7 people with at least 5 people living with disability or who are disadvatanged. The boat can fit up to 3 wheelchairs per sail. To book this program please Sign Up on our website and login with your username and password.

If you are one of our authorised crew members and would like to crew, please follow the steps as per above and add your name to the crew list. All crew should register their intention at least 2 weeks prior to their intended sail and be at the boat 1 hour prior to the sail time listed for boat call

Bookings require a minimum 7 maximum 13 people with at least 5 people living with disability or who are disadvatanged. The boat can fit up to 3 wheelchairs per sail. Our regular life jackets are designed for students 40kg and above, if you have students that weigh less than this, please let us know so we can properly equip our boat. For safety reasons, we require a 3/1 teacher to student ratio while on board.
