Making Waves Foundation offer a Winds of Joy Program which is designed to give children with disability and disadvantaged children and youth the opportunity to go sailing. Through our crew, MWF are able to provide positive role models, demonstrating that people with a disability do not have to be confined by it and creating optimism. This program is run entirely by volunteers. Group bookings of minimum 7 with at least 5 with disability/special needs and a maximum of 3 wheelchairs including can be booked by school or community groups. To book this program please Sign Up on our website and login with your username and password. If you are one of our authorised crew members and would like to crew, please follow the steps as per above and add your name to the crew list. All crew should register their intention at least 2 weeks prior to their intended sail and be at the boat 1 hour prior to the sail time listed for boat call

12:30-15:00 MOB training

This training is open to anyone. If you are a new volunteer or would like to be re-inducted please sign up.

We will be practising the MOB drill. All are welcome, espcially those crew who are the rescue swimmers. (bring a spare set of clothes just in case).

This is your training, we will cover anything that you want, from reefing and general boat handling to anything else.

Please bring snacks and a drink as we will be out for a while.

On Monday's Labour Day public holiday, a long passage race will see yachts stretch their legs with Moreton Island and Brisbane City as idyllic backdrops.
