WEEK 3 of 8 - The Winds of Change Youth Project opens a whole new world of challenge, skill development and discovery for young people who have disengaged from learning. By thinking beyond the paradigm of the classroom and didactic teaching, the Project offers a classroom of the future through the medium of sailing. Wright of Passage

Making Waves Foundation Wright of Passage program is for young people between the ages of 16 to 25, who are looking for learning options outside of the classroom.

Students work closely with mentors in refurbishing a sailing vessel, learning in a hands-on environment to develop and understand the basics of trade skills. Enabling participants to build confidence and develop abilities they need when transitioning from school to apprenticeships and employment.

The program runs Wednesday and Thursday at Woolwich Dock, working on the project vessel. Alternate weeks are Wednesdays at Woolwich Dock and Friday sailing on the harbour out of the Cruising Yacht Club Australia (CYCA) in Rushcutters Bay.

Newcastle - On-Dock Training with Wendy

Time: Wed November 1, 9:30 am to Wed November 1, 11:30 am

On-Dock training with Wendy Tuck, for new Newcastle volunteer crew, and any current volunteers wishing for a refresh, aboard Joy - situated at berth C10 (C arm, berth 10 on left hand side).  A prelude to the on-water session with Wendy Tuck in the afternoon.
